All the times I've watched this movie I never put two and two together that she opened the envelope because she thought Billy was sending Sullivan proof of their affair.

2025-07-02 01:06:27 +0000 UTCThe last 30 minutes of this movie is a fucking trip. This is an English-language remake of the the first Infernal Affairs(2002) movie, that was made in Hong Kong. Infernal Affairs has two sequels, Infernal Affairs 2(2003) is a prequel to the first movie and unfortunately isn't nearly as good.

2024-05-23 04:43:37 +0000 UTCI only got around to watching it now, great reaction. It is never explicitly stated but heavily implied that Sullivan is actually a closeted homosexual: 1. He uses lots of homophobic remarks throughout, often unpromted; 2. When the realtor asks him if he's married Sullivan says that he has a co-signer on the lease, at which points the realtor remarks "oh cool, you tend to have a house guest", making Sullivan visibly angry; 3. Similar reaction to a conversation with Captain Ellerby; 4. He has problems having sex with his girlfriend, which can also be attributed to his impotence (which is another theory as well); 5. Several times throughout the movie we can see Sullivan looking at a building with the golden dome (Boston's State House) with reverence in his eyes. That reverence both speaks to his aspirations, but also that golden dome looks a bit like... well, you know :D I'm sure there are more but those are the ones that are fairly on the nose.

Loved how into you guys were with it just building and building until you're so on board that you realize it has to keep going, and so of course the envelope is right there. And then from there you're just on for the rest of the ride. Happy you guys enjoyed it so much!

2024-05-18 14:57:22 +0000 UTCThe thing people tend to miss is the last part of the movie didn't really have to happen. Damon's character wanted to get the hell out with his fiancee and basically start fresh, DiCaprio's character wanted his check and to not be involved, and so on. If Damon throws away the Citizen's Bank envelope, the last 20 minutes doesn't happen. Also, it's funny Damon's seen as somebody who plays bad guys my Maple (I think), since this, Interstellar, and kinda sorta only a couple other movies is he the bad guy, they just managed to find the two where he plays that.
