I love how in two separate instances, it was Ed and Al that managed to show kindness and compassion to the chimeras, and that's what turned them into allies. Best boys. But yeah, my favourite part in all of this is how Ed recognizes his naïveté, understands where he needs to grow, but doubles down on his ideals.
