Oof. It was tough watching this one, it really cut you to the core, didn't it? It does hurt, and my appreciation of Sinclair and O'Hare's peformance has only increased over the years. I'm so happy that most reactors value him. Tony Tenser has covered all the important points, but just know it wasn't an easy decision and that there really sadly wasn't an alternative. It wasn't studio politicking. It wasn't an issue with ratings. It was one of mental health. All I can say is that there's a reason why fans love Babylon 5 so much, and that is that it is truly a satisfying story and that you will be able to look back at the end and still see how the episode Babylon Squared remains a key unsullied moment within the story that makes it a satisfying whole. Regarding Ivanova, yes she is a little sad. But she's military. In the military it's common to have people promoted, swapped out. I do agree though that more should have been done about the sadness of Sinclair moving on. Part of the problem for JMS was that this was all pretty short notice, and although he had backup plans he did have to do a tremendous amount of rewriting. As for Sheridan, both the character and the actor I feel take a little while to feel out the role, but there's a reason he's loved by fans as much as Sinclair. Finally it's kind of odd watching this changing of the guard here in the UK when we've just lost our Queen. Feels strange. I'll miss her.
