Did you notice that during the exit of your reaction to The Shining, your editor spliced in a really brief image of Rose the Hat when Dick Halloran said that there are others who Shine? While this doesn't eclipse The Shining, it's one of only three worthy sequels to great movies in my book! (The others being Godfather II and Psycho II.)

The way they tackle loss and grief and the ways people love each other are so well done, plus a healthy dose of scares! On a related note, even if they don't watch it I'd love to know if Chad has seen A Ghost Story and your thoughts on it.

Rose is an excellent villain, scary, evil, hatable and 2 hours or so in you realise she's not anything compared to the Overlook and the terror Dan's been living with his whole life. Also I'd take the bathtub lady over degloving scene any day. My main Christmas movie suggestion would be Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and for New Years, The Apartment.

Or the lifetime movie about this creep living in a woman's house watching her with cameras, but the movie is just so bad and cheesy. Also Ariana shaking her claw hands and going "uueuhhg" was the funniest part. I sobbed at the end of the movie and my brother was like "are you seriously that invested?" like bro you kidding?? So glad yall watched it. I actually saw the shining when I was a tween or teen and I thought the bathtub scene was just cool xD and weird and gross, but not really scary. The scene with Jack taunting Wendy up the stairs though.... owo

She plays a singer and the scene is absolutely breathtaking. I fell in love with her after that 3 minute song!

2023-10-20 19:32:53 +0000 UTCI know Spooky Season is over but you should really consider some of Mike Flanagan's other work, in particular, The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor. Both are ghost stories but explore it in wonderful ways.
