I've always gotten the impression Thomas wouldn't even think to do half the stuff he does if Miss O'Brien wasn't giving him ideas and egging him on. He probably wouldn't have been nicer, but he's clearly not the brains of the operation.

Mr. Bates and Anna 4eva! 😁 I love when Bates says "Go to bed, dream of better men." and Anna says, "I can't because there aren't any." Damn straight - he's just the best of men. 🥺 I was so proud of Daisy this episode. I think she's finally started to see Thomas' true colours and it took a lot of bravery for her to stand up and tell the truth. Loved all the stuff with Branson and Sybil. Sybil is definitely an idealist, but I can't fault her for it, because it's only people who believe that fiercely that make real changes. Being pragmatic isn't a bad thing at all, but radical changes take strong people with fierce determination. Although, those idealists, often need pragmatists behind them reminding them of important, reality checks. I love this family too, both upstairs and downstairs. I love that you described it as an ecosystem, because that is exactly what it feels like. Great reaction - excited to watch the last episode of the season with you next time.
