I feel like the most interesting bits are the characters, and I feel like some of the later movies kinda overlook side characters. I am sure its justified from a production standpoint, but some side characters definitely feels shafted

As a whole, they're not that bad and some of them are really enjoyable as standalone movies (I particularly enjoy movies 3 and 5 for their own sake) but they vary wildly in quality and style because of the constant change of directors. Plus, if you actually pay attention to the details and watch them closely one after the other, you notice how they really dropped the ball on developing enough of the backstories and lore from the books for the conclusion to make any kind of sense to non-bookreaders.

2023-09-18 00:40:06 +0000 UTCThat's totally not in the minority, if you don't have perseverance and or at least know it gets much better the first couple movies can break your spirit. lol. Most harry potter fans will tell you to an annoying degree that you have to make it at least to number 3 or 4 and judge them on 3 past, because the first two start off incredibly slow, they can be misleading if you don't know they are mainly for character development, world building and just giving the actors time to grow up and learn how to really act, and be old enough for the story to take off. They are all good movies in their own right, well directed, but they amplify in story and maturity as they go so they are very different movies too. Very stark difference from the beginning and end of that series haha.
