Eternal Sunshine is one of my favourite movies, and I loved The Truman Show too. If you haven’t seen it, I’d suggest maybe getting Maple to watch the series called Kidding that he did with Michel Gondry a couple years ago, he plays a Mr Rogers-type, beloved children’s tv entertainer who is trying to deal with the death of one of his sons, whilst still having to live up to this jovial, pacifistic, warm public persona. They only made two series so it’s a quick watch, but it’s got loads of Gondry’s “in camera” magic in it too, and Carrey is great in it!
