Maple had basically the same reaction everyone had when they watched this for the first time. The scariest film I’d seen for a long time when I first saw this, stayed with me for days! I definitely prefer unsettling horror movies like this more than out and out gorefests or films like Annabelle, etc. I definitely think Maple should watch Midsommar as well, she mentioned how she wasn’t even safe in the daytime, and that’s all about making the daytime unsafe! Maybe also check out Kill List and In the Earth at some point too, Ben Wheatley is also great at unsettling mood pieces.
