Ananenko, Bespalov and Baranov saved my life. I was five years old and about 1000 km to the northwest when Chernobyl happened, easily within the area that would have turned into a crater if those three men didn't do what they did, knowing it would kill them to do it. And I didn't even know about it before this show.

2024-08-24 10:27:49 +0000 UTCNuclear energy is actually very very safe and unlike the Soviet Union at the time we have much more safety protocols to prevent an event like Chernobyl from ever happening again at our reactors. Obviously, there have been accidents like Three Mile Island but no accident here in the States have been reported for decades. You live in country with over 50 nuclear plants and didn't know until now! This show is fantastic but don't let it scare you from nuclear energy
