I like the word play of the title, "Born to the Purple." Apparently it means born to aristocracy or born to royal power, which Londo seems to be to some extent. But here his blackmail files are also called the purple files, so his power and inherited social status rests on holding leverage over other houses. Seeming to imply the chain of power in held though coercive influence and threats are integral to getting and keeping power in the Centauri. This show has the weird accomplishment of having my favorite episode titles, they’re so dramatic, poetic and meaningful and kinda…..pretty… My favorite line of the episode: “What do you want, you moon-faced assassin of joy?” -Londo Great day of reactions for me: Babylon 5 and Highlander on labor day!!
