This is a tough one. I get what you're saying about the stakes feeling really unequal and the romance not being as important. I do understand where Bash and his mom are coming from. I feel like neither of them has really tried to understand where the other is coming from and they have both been super defensive so they haven't made any progress so far. And the Kakwet thing is heartbreaking. I've heard some of the tribes have brought up this show as a good representation of how these schools were, and have been a part of advocating for the show to get renewed. I didn't realize, but apparently these schools were open until recently? I think the last one closed in 1996. Also, the letter from Anne got left outside. It gets on Gilbert's shoe when he gets home and then you see it all crumpled in the mud. I can't wait for the next one! The finale is so good!!
