Yeah, this was a hard one. On the rewatch though, once I know what's going to happen, I really think this is one of the best episodes of the show. The whole episode was beautiful, especially the ending scene. I've seen this countless times at this point with different people, and it still makes me cry every time. And even in the middle of the crying, the show manages to make you laugh a little, and there are good points, like the parts with Matthew and Delphine. Anyways, good reaction, thank you for doing these!

2021-01-07 03:10:24 +0000 UTCThis episode gutted me too. Even though Mary was only in the show for such a short time, I felt like we knew her much longer than we did. The actress who plays her brought her to life so beautifully. The story with the Mi'kmaq did feel out of place to me too, but it just goes to show how "having a Black friend" doesn't make someone not racist. It's frustrating that the white townspeople can't make the leap from embracing a Black family to embracing others who are different from them. Ugh. Hope you've had a merry holiday season Shelley.
