Still sticking to my thought. Buying things feels like love to oneself. To stop how it satisfies that need is still based in how you show love to yourself and others. I appreciate all the comments. Thank you Joel, but it is as simple as I've stated. Love is about positive energy. If shopping provides the euphoric feeling of love, then it's hard to stop. Admitting that, then trying to find another activity to provide that same euphoric (loving) feeling is your solution. I understand, even though I'm not into shopping as many people are. When I need to feel better, I prefer to be alone and pray. I hope this explains my opinion better.๐๐๐

2023-10-13 01:33:03 +0000 UTCI think having a separate channel for this is a really good idea. I've done content pages before and when it's a lot of mixed content it doesn't tend to do as well. People who are very interested in a particular topic want that topic and only that, so they will likely lose interest if you don't continue just that content. I think it's smart to start a new page and once it gets going incorporate it into the other one while still doing your other videos. Obviously, there's die hard fans that want to watch whatever you make; but, others don't care about commentary or anything else and would rather just see this side of you. You're accommodating both sides. Perhaps more work for you, so just don't burn yourself out; but, it's a great new adventure.

Thanks for explaining, it is really interesting to me at least, and it helps me understand some of your decisions regarding content.

Then they made a fresh channel and abandoned the old one (not that Iโm planning to do that) and they blew up bigger than ever. In 2023 โchannelsโ should be thought of more like โshowsโ imo

Iโve transitioned audiences in the past, but the algorithm is a bit more centered around catering to a very specific audience recently so splitting up commentary and songwriting is what Iโm gonna start with, perhaps with some songwriting ones every once in a while on the main. I think the songwriting videos I did with Jonas & August were pretty cool, but being on the channelmight actually have held them back. Thereโs realities around getting views/money I need to weigh when doing these things, so for now itโs separate

For now the important thing is to get started with this, Iโm also filming normal commentary content thatโll go on the main. My experience is that thereโs a lot of people on the main channel who arenโt interested in songwriting content, mainly pop music commentary, and anecdotally mixed audiences seem to hold channels back a bit. I also donโt want too many underperforming videos on the main channel because that may detract sponsors, which for now are my main income source :)

But, at least for me youtube just started pushing Roomie Official content again, the videos were not in my recommended for a couple of years, and now one in every 5 recommendations is a RO video. So why not publish whatever you are working on on the main channel?

I love the more dressed down versions; however, what can be done with production is incredible and usually blows my mind. It sounds like a great way to progress on what you've been working towards! Then taking my favorites from that, make into full versions, send to a producer to "dress up", and make a video talking about the process behind it. These songs will all have interesting concepts behind them (this one is inspired by a specific social media post I saw, which I will get into if I include it in a future dressed up video)
