Piczel.tv future roadmap
Added 2020-09-13 20:41:06 +0000 UTCHope you all are having a good September so far - it's been a while since I've written up one of these posts.
This year we've done quite a lot of upgrading - first replacing our stream server (freeing up a TON of CPU and RAM), then replacing our chat and constant upgrades since then, along with many bugfixes etc along the way.
Chat is nearly wrapped up, there are a few smaller things I'd like to add - recent PMs section, a few small styling fixes, and some more info when you join streams, reminder text, etc. We're currently nearly done adding subscribestar support since patreon broke their API earlier, and some users have been requesting it (and subscribestar finally got their API and websocket support available).
We're also planning a contest for designing a mascot for us - they won't be super prominent but we'll likely make a few images for various pages (404, 502 errors primarily, maybe some help page stuff). More details soon, but we've decided on something like 4 weeks of submissions, a week of (approval) voting, then we'll pick the winner from the top 3. Prizes will be provided for all entries (likely a month of premium), and bigger prizes for the top 3 (likely some form of tablet).
While the contest runs, we'll likely be implementing a few smaller new features, and improving our new user experience - reminder text, tutorial stuff, things like that. Once we've got a mascot chosen and some art made, we are hoping to get started advertising a lot more. Likely FA and HF, possibly more on twitter (though I haven't been too impressed with it before). Advertising also covers things like adding more (automated) emails to folks, about new posts, stuff going on on piczel, reminders to upload things and try out the newly upgraded piczel.

Oh, and for those that haven't, be sure to link your patreon account to your piczel account! I see a few that haven't, you may not get the new premium codes every month if you don't!

2021-06-10 01:10:32 +0000 UTCI have been adoring Piczel ever since I heard of it and I want to do everything I can to help get it seen and noticed. Finding a place to stream my NSFW art is ridiculously difficult and this platform, whoe small and growing works SO well and I am VERY impressed. As a Twitch streamer as well, I have some suggestions for the future but I know NOTHING about programming so I do not know how difficult it would be. On that topic, is there a place we can throw in our suggestions or are posts such as these where can post them? I've been plugging the hell out of this site on Twitter, hoping it gets seen. As of yet its been difficult to get seen by people who are not already following me from other places but I see this more as I need to keep at it and eventually other watchers on Piczel will see me. Once Piczel gets the traffic it deserves, this will be a terrific platform
