Hello everyone, we've got something to put to the community finally, as we ramp up development with the addition of a new developer!

We've been upgrading the chat quite a bit lately, both in terms of performance and aesthetics. One of the things requested somewhat often is a change in the chat font.

Piczel.tv Mascot opinions

Hello all, 

We're considering creating a mascot for piczel, primarily for use in ads we may purchase on FA, HF, and anywhere else that we can reasonably put them.

Likely we won't have mascot art all over piczel itself, perhaps at most on the homepage in a newly designed top banner, in order to advertise features within piczel itself.

April Premium codes

Hi all,

We've got some sporadic reports of codes not being sent for April - please get in touch if you don't seem to have the right amount of premium.

On our end, it looks like codes are going out but then autoapplication of them is breaking or something, and they get used without having the premium applied properly (or stripped after it is applied).

We'll investigate the bug.

Chat emote opinions

A few users have brought up the idea of limiting somehow our max emote size, as the largest options can be a bit obnoxious when spammed.

A few options we've come up with are the following

1. Allow streamers to set max emote render size for their chat - larger emotes will be shrunk on display, to keep chat a bit more tidy

State of Piczel 2020

Hello all, this is a bit later than I wanted to do this post, but here goes.

2019 was a big year for piczel - lots of upgrades, feature improvements, and bugfixing.

2020 is shaping up to be even bigger, starting with the big dependency update we just did these past few weeks - we've restructured our code and gotten all our dependencies updated, instead of a few years old. This month we've been working on some backend improvements for recordings and timelapses, emails, as well as a number of smaller bugfixes. We're going to continue work on backend stuff (our patreon script, for example, is clunky and sometimes messes up) and hopefully fix some more bugs.
