Sensual Wellness 3: FEEL (2/16/23 Final Class Replay)

Hello dears,

In the final class of our 3-part sensual wellness series, we explore what sensual wellness in a movement practice feels like for us.

Why do some exercises feel good, and not others? My curiosity about this led me to a continued path of exploring what sensual wellness feels like for me, in my body, mind, heart, and soul.

We open with a chat about this. About oxytocin, and different ways to engage our senses for self-care and wellbeing.

Then we feel into a beautiful self massage practice using our yoga tune-up balls to soothe our nervous system and tend to the emotional body.

We continue to navigate our relationship to ourselves and our tools (the tune-up balls in this case) as we roll out different muscles where emotion is stored, and eventually end with a standing practice.

For this practice you will need:

-Yoga tune-up balls or tennis balls (can sub with coregous balls or your hands if you don't have access to the tools)

-A safe/comfy space where you can show up exactly as you are

This one’s all about the feels.

Wherever you are today, allow this practice to meet you there.

Thank you for joining me on this journey!

If you have any feedback on this series, or requests for future practices, feel free to comment or message me here or at hello@riekatagiri.com. I would love to here your thoughts/feelings!

I had so much fun practicing with you.

See you soon,

XO Rie

Dearest Sam...Thank you for your amazing comment here, I am so happy to know that Qigong is helpful for you. AND----Yes, those are BIG questions that I can relate to! Of course the answer depends on many factors. I will try and give you my best answers that I can authentically connect to in this moment. 1> What keeps me from doing this practice every day? I have to answer this one with a question -->What is your relationship with commitment to your inner peace? I would start there. If what keeps us from practices that we know we like to do (genuine pleasure or joy in doing) is hung up in our attachment to distractions, you might do a writing session to see what unpacks for you. 2>Why do I choose to prolong the suffering? That is such a HUGE question that I ask myself often. For me, mindfulness practices answer so much, so it's a catch 22 kinda thing. Do practices that allow you to get still or flow in the field of clear Qi and bring soft awareness to your reactive mind without identifying with them. My teacher often says, that our self absorption (ego centered thinking)is a big cause of our suffering. 3>How can I step off that ride? See 1 & 2. I am honored to say that I know you're pretty well now Sam and I know how beautifully you show up for yourself and your practices. These questions tell me you are looking at the right places. Keep going! Jai MA!!

I always feel calm, centered and present after qi gong work with you Rie. What keeps me from doing this practice every day? Why do I choose to prolong the suffering? How can I step off that ride?
