Episode 3 poll

The more the better in my opinion, yeah I get not all devices can handle large file games, but lets face it. I doubt your creative stance developing the game was for people to play the game on a mobile device sure it adds to how many people can play the game sure. Its your game Decent Monkey I love the game and the choices so far. Yeah the Marcus part with the animal stuff is a bit strange, but its all good.

I think the choice should be made on the amount of trouble having such a large file will cause you as the game developer and the problems if the renpy programme can't handle it. Yes I love having all the repeatable events but if the game is going to start randomly crashing and misbehaving because of it's size then changes are clearly needed. Oh and I chose option 2 :)

The smallest flash drive I have found holds 16 GB. The game is now 10 GB. We're not in the Stone Age :)

If size is an Issue and you want to have more time to complete episode 2, Is it possible to make a part 2 of episode 2 as a seperate game with your choices and stats able to carry over? That way you wouldn't have to rush through some of the content you've been building on so far and wouldn't have to start episode 3 in a way that feels too forced

Option 3 would be my choice! Finish of the side quests and chapters first before moving on to chapter 3. That way you can go into chapter 3 with a clean slate and also most gamers prefer to have some sort of closure before moving forward with the game. Keep up the good work i like how the game is progressing and cant wait to see what is next in store for Monica.

My choice would be option 3 but if the engine is straining option 2 . I believe that the game will be for the better if episode 2 is completed as originally planned, as that would allow the player to follow any path in the order they wish. Keep up the great work. Cheers.

I don’t care about the size of the game, so... My proposal: Episode 1 Episode 2 - maid story Episode 3 - post-maid story Episode 2 should end when Monica definitely leaves her former home, that stage in Monica's life is over and all events happening at home and related to it (gym, school, the first part of the office etc.) are completed. The remaining content should be duplicated or (repeating content) temporarily 'locked' and moved to Episode 3 :-)

I have also played both, and it looks a little better I agree, but the files for PC are like twice as big, which is a high price to pay, especially if it's causing issues with Ren'py. The important thing for me is the gameplay, and I've seen other people comment that 720p looks good enough, and there's nothing stopping him putting the extra content, which is the only difference AFAIK, into that version. :-)

I thought the issue was merging 3 with 1 and 2, but as I said This is an area I know little about and it was just a question.

I have played both 720 and 1080 and it definitely does. At the same time I also updated my laptop to a new Mac so everything is better than my old laptop lol. In any case there are a few differences. Plus the 1080 version has all the extra content that 720 doesn't I believe..

Option 3 is surely the least practical, if only for the reasons you've given. I think Ep 3 would be fine as a separate download, like like Ep 2 was to Ep 1, as long as you have a mechanism to transfer the current state of Ep 2 in the saves. Otherwise what will happen when you get to Ep 4? I don't know how many people play the Android version, but they deserve a chance to continue. There is also the option of having an extra version at 720p, as I saw suggested some weeks ago. I'm not sure 1080p really adds much to the game for the file size penalty.

And what comes to Android players they can take piss for god sake. Buy a pc for god sake, good games are not meant to play on phone :D

And what comes to game size idc of it 100gb If its a good one :D and i think that you shouldnt think too much of things like If everybody can run it. Thats their problem If someone tries to play games with museum hardware and cant run it. Just bring us best possible experience and game no matter what :D

I think that closing up the open paths on EP 2 on future updates would be best, dont leave them open for to carry over on EP 3. But i think it would be mandatory to carry everything important from 2 to 3 that the game feels like its continutiation from episode to episode. And what i mean to closing up i mean like some smaller paths like bardi etc. But like falling path and office should defintly continue on next ep and few others. But do what is the best for the game from performance and story wise. I just hope that when we go to ep 3 it feels like smooth and natural transsission so it feels like im playing same game and my choices that i have made carry over to the 3rd

I think yes, you should already start developing Episode 3. But you probably should still leave some of the content from episode 2.

Thanks for your very good (team) work Monkey.I'm an old french (pervert? ;-)) gamer and i'm working in data processing jobs. i have need to compliment you but to give you just some only personal advices :about the choice of the episode 3 i no mandatory choice to made but listen your fans AND synthetize the result with your professional choice (how to go on the fun of the two first episodes? how to maintain an stable software and commercial software to preverse your job! : without you we have nothing to play!...).Me, i have a main thought about fun and corruption in this type of game : NO SHAME=NO HUMILIATION: adults VNs are boring when the corrupted persons do all with no resistance but you do this very well....for the rest (quality, story, erotic background, i have trust in you...take care of you

I say end Episode 2 best you can in the next version or 2 after 16. Just like you did at the end of episode 1 start episode 3. Maybe bring over a few unfinished paths from episode 2 to episode 3. I would rather a smooth running game than a larger episode. I had no issues changing from episode 1 to episode 2 but this is just my opinion. Episode 2 is quite large already and should be finished the best it can. Looking forward to episode 3!! and many more hopefully lol.

I think episode 2 should end with a new chapter beginning, otherwise the game will be so big it’ll be hard for people with worse computers to even run it!

I want to have 1 big game, also with Episode 1 included. But that is just me. It is strange to switch to Episode 2 after finishing Episode 1

If it would improve the operation of your processor, or improve the operation of the program you are working on. Then close V2 and start V3 but carry over some open threads from V2 like Slums for example.

I voted I dont care about the size of the game, but I just wanted to clarify I mean that both ways. If you wanna continue and the game gets larger im ok, or if its best for the project to trim it, I am fine with that as well. I say do whatever is best for the project.

I don't care about the size of the game, but when the engine reaches its limit, as it does now, I prefer continue with choice 2. I want a smooth running game, the chance of less bugs and therefore a cut to Ep3 with some repeatbable content but a mostly cleared space.

I think episode 2 should end soon indeed. It already has a lot of content and future problems might appear because of the size. But I don't think it should end now. Maybe have in mind the ending of episode 2 for the next few updates and finish all the open quests/paths. (not the revenge one as I think that will have to go on through all episodes) This way episode two will have a feeling of having completed something, like episode one has and we can start a new chapter of Monica's path in chapter 3.

So, Is it possible to make Episodes 1 and 2 and call it Part One and end it? Then you can make Episodes 3 and 4 Part Two as a separate stand alone game. Those of us who will want to play the completed game (after how many episodes) from the beginning with different choices will still be able to do so. Before anyone jumps on me, I have a very little knowledge of bandwidth, load, etc., and all it entails. I just know a great game when I see and play one, and I would hate to lose anything out of Fashion Business,

I like the game as it is but it does have a lot of unfinished paths to take. I would vote that the revenge path be taken out of episode 2 and save it for endgame path because A LOT of people deserves Monica's raft.

Of course, there should be a warning about unseen content in episode 2, before player starts the scene that leads to episode 3

Game size doesn't matter for me, but if Ren'Py causes problems with too big size, I guess it would be best to start another episode that doesn't include the unrepeatable scenes of episode 2.

I would hate to see Option one in place. I plan on replaying the game using a different approach, so having a hard brake inbetween would be sad. Chosing between the last two options depends on the implementation and restrictions. I did notice that skipping time takes some time, so if you are afraid, a bigger game size could break the game, it could be a good idea to remove some enty-level contents. If you are only afraid of the download-size, I could not care less. Would be nice to get some additional information for the second option, which content you plan to leave out. I think, the player should have played through this content to the last bit, right? Or how will the transition from a partly played through V2 to the V3 be? If I never decided to prostitue her, will she be a prostitue anyways in V3? Or are you planning to leave out the "earlier" animations, like the in the failing path no dressed dancing anymore, only with a bare upper body?
