Hello, Patrons. Another month, and more progress. We're about 4 hours into the process, and 45% of the way through vocal recordings. It's a battle to reconcile reality with ambition, but I think we're winning. I've attached an image of the timeline, and will provide an explanation for what each of those sections represents.
1: This has been scored with music, one of the final steps of the editing process. There are very few big changes left to be done in this area. That said, this particular section is the Arena, and I've realized that I need to second draft a small section where I discuss how I would go about fixing the faction. Small oversight, but late additions are par for the course.
2: These are sections have been given detailed clips, meaning any lines which need a specific visual example have been located. These are some of the most time consuming parts of editing, and while a lot of this has been made easy thanks to steps I took in the writing process to try and mark down as many timestamps as possible, it's still taking quite a bit of time, as I'm currently pulling an all-nighter to try and get as much of this done before June starts.
3: This section has been given non-detailed clips. A comparable example would be my discussion of armor types in Morrowind: a single long clip which will have emphasis placed on text or visual examples instead of the recordings.
4: This section has only been given clips directly written into the script. This includes rough versions of all the jokes and any quotes from NPCs.
5: Not included, but this is sections of pure audio which haven't been timed yet, meaning I haven't gone through the process of listening to the recording and placing lines in proper cadence. This would like a single long, green bar on the second Audio line.
The Harry Potter video took only a week to do, compared to 2 weeks on Battlefront 2 and 3 weeks on Dishonored 2. Being able to turn around half an hour of content at the same level of quality in only a week is a massive step-up in workflow, and will keep this ship sailing far longer. There are two, potentially three side projects in the pipeline.
