Skinning Update for the RT-880 first draft
Added 2025-07-06 11:21:56 +0000 UTCAs I previously mentioned, every UI element on the new 880 firmware will be fully customizable, while some elements may have custom properties, all of them will have at least these:
Location X, Y pixel coordinate (relative to parent if any)
Foreground Colour (see below)
Background Colour (see below)
Font (8x8, 8x16, 16x16, 16x24, 24x24 or 24x32)
Justification (left or right)
Colours:
Colours can be defined as just a straight colour, or they can be assigned a function palette. Functions can be for example Operation mode, VFO mode etc..
So say for Operation mode, there are several colours in this function palette, for example:
RX Squelch Closed : White
RX Squelch Open : Green
TX : Red
Scanning : Magenta
Scan Monitor : Cyan
and for VFO Mode for example:
VFO Mode : Dark Blue
Channel Mode : Dark Ochre
Group Mode : Dark Violet
Any element with a colour set to one of these functions will change when the mode changes.

I'm so looking forward being able to customize my 880G! My biggest hope in terms of visuals is that more use can be made of the screen when in Full Band Tuning mode. And honestly, my functional wishlist really isn't all that high either.
