RT-900 Users PTT Mode Poll
Added 2025-06-05 22:07:20 +0000 UTCSince the Radtel RT-900 is not a dual PTT radio out of the box I'm curious what PTT mode users of nicFW on the RT-900 use. I myself use Hybrid mode (Essentially the same as stock FW) because the PTT-B button is limited on the 900 (No repeater tone or manual DTMF is possible).
I am asking this because I've received a number of requests to assign the middle side button single and long press actions.... Well, I've had requests to do this for the two side buttons below PTT-A, but the bottom one is not configurable in nicFW as it has hard coded functions (EDIT: But I did it anyway). Obviously, if the button is mostly used for PTT-B, this would not be a good idea.

Right, so I think assigning single and long press actions to the middle side button seems reasonable based on these results. Obviously these functions will only be usable in Single and Hybrid modes, but that seems to be what most use anyway.

2025-06-06 08:55:23 +0000 UTCPressing the 0-9 keys during transmit sends a manual DTMF key for as long as the key is held, this pretty standard, I don't see how what you want could be implemented.
