Richard Seymour responds to listeners' questions

In today’s episode Richard Seymour responds to listener questions on the overthrow of Assad in Syria, the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson and the significance of widespread public sympathy for Luigi Mangione. We also talked about “normie socialism”, a Soviet counterfactual, and what books Richard has been reading this year. As always, thanks to everyone who sent in a question and for your continued support.

On the next episode, could you ask Richard why the USSR was not a degenerated workers state?

Michael Doyle

Not sure about that last paragraph by Pennan, unless we treat its slinky purpleness as a tribute to the man from Minneapolis. But even then?

Question for Richard for the next episode: why is the former USSR classified as a state capitalist state rather than a degenerate workers state? The DWS theory seems the more compelling.

Michael Doyle

Great episode as always. These really are worth the Patreon fee. Hope you get better soon Alex.

Was a bit surprised to hear about the death of the Syrian revolution without Rojava and the SDF coming up at all
