Listeners questions for Richard Seymour
Added 2024-02-14 11:32:43 +0000 UTCRichard will be returning to respond to listeners questions once more. Topics you may want to ask Richard about could include the prospect of an Israeli assault on Rafah, the significance (or otherwise) of the change of tone by the United States and other Western powers towards Israel, and the continuing threat of broader regional war. You may also like to ask Richard about the prospects for Biden and Trump in the next presidential election or about the current situation of the Ukraine war. As always though Richard is happy to respond to questions on all other topics. As usual please send your questions to politicstheoryother@gmail.com with "Seymour listeners questions" in the subject header or below the line here.

2024-02-20 11:39:30 +0000 UTC1. If the Tories lose as drastically as some of the recent polls suggest what directions do you see the British right taking? Do you think it will take the form of a factional civil War within the conservative party, or is there space for new parties and right wing street movements? 2. Could you please speak on the fragments of capital that support labor versus the conservatives? In America it seems to be a established position that certain forms of capital prefer the democrats with seemingly more regionally focused capitalists supporting republicans. Is there such a clear split here? Btw I'm very dyslexic so apologies on spelling and grammar etc

2024-02-17 10:10:55 +0000 UTCTwo questions: 1. Curious to get Richard's thoughts on the phenomenon of the uptick of religious conversions, specifically to Islam, in this moment. Was thinking about this because of Richard's previous writing on the limited engagement with metaphysical thinking and spirituality on the Western left. 2. What do you think about the possibilities for individual countries (outside of the US) to peel away from the imperial coalition backing Israel?

2024-02-17 03:36:51 +0000 UTCWhat are Richard's views on the opportunist far right using the agrarian outrage on the continent and pushing back on green initiatives - is there a left response and in light of the ecological breakdown that is currently happening around us, is everything as bleak as I currently see it?

2024-02-14 18:15:52 +0000 UTCassuming labour win the next election, which shit as Starmer is still seems the most likely outcome, and carry out an agenda along the lines now outlined by Starmer, Streeting et al, on what terrain do you envisage the next election in 2029 or so being fought?
