Defining genocide w/ Omer Bartov

In our conversation we discussed the history of the idea of genocide as well as its application to Israel's assault on Gaza. Unfortunately, we had something of a disaster with the recording of this episode and more than half of the interview was lost, and for various reasons it wasn't possible to re-record. So the following is a truncated version of our conversation that focusses more on the history of Genocide as a field of study that emerged from the Second World War, rather than the current situation in Israel-Palestine. Although Omer's comments on Israel's domestic political and social atmosphere at the moment was recorded. Although it didn't seem to make sense to put this out as a public episode, it seemed a shame not to make use of it in some form, so it's appearing here on the patron's only stream.
