Listener's questions for Phil Burton-Cartledge and Richard Seymour

Hi everyone! First off, thank you very much for your continued support for the show. It's always appreciated but especially now given the cost of living crisis, both in the UK and elsewhere. PTO really couldn't exist without listener support so thank you so much!

This week I'll be recording two listeners' questions episodes. First up will be Phil Burton-Cartledge who has written *the book* on the decline of the UK Conservative Party, which has acquired even more salience given the disastrous tenure of Liz Truss and the dire poll ratings the Conservatives have been registering. Phil is in the process of updating a new edition of the book, so your questions can be directly on the book, or on the prospects for Rishi Sunak's iteration of the party, plus any and all other questions on what has been hitherto one of the most successful political parties in modern history. This episode will be publicly available (though patrons will get an extended version) but I'd like to give PTO supporters' questions priority.

As usual, please comment below the line or email politicstheoryother@gmail.com with 'Phil BC listener's questions' in the subject line. I can't promise to ask every single question, but will do my best to select the best ones.

Secondly, I'll be recording a patrons-only episode with Richard Seymour too. Richard of course writes incredibly widely so you might want to ask about COP27, the US mid-terms, the ongoing war in Ukraine, the Brazilian election... But feel free to ask a question on a topic of your choosing. Richard will almost certainly have something to say on it. Please comment below the line or email politicstheoryother@gmail.com with 'Richard S listener's questions' in the subject line.

Finally, watch out for a new episode coming soon with Nancy Fraser in which we'll be discussing her fantastic new book, Cannibal Capitalism: How Our System Is Devouring Democracy, Care, and the Planet—and What We Can Do About It.
