2021-08-30 17:52:02 +0000 UTCI want to ask James about how the withdrawal of the Universal Credit boost fits with the idea that neoliberalism is ending, especially with the familiar & terrifying 'people should lift themselves up rather than rely on the state' rhetoric from Johnson the other day - is it the monster having the odd surge of energy as it dies or does it have nothing to do with it, but I'm not brainy enough to form the question (please do it for me, Alex) x

2021-08-30 13:26:23 +0000 UTCApologies if this was covered in the originial episode, but what does James feel to be the largest structural/institutional obstacles currently facing the British left (i.e Labourism, first past the post, specific contradictions of the British state such as its domination by finance) that are limiting our capacity to be in a position to push the transition he describes in a progressive direction, and how does he feel they can/should be overcome?

2021-08-30 13:24:44 +0000 UTCI can’t remember if this was covered in the original episode, but it would be interesting to hear what James thinks about China’s relationship with neoliberalism, both how it’s influenced China internally and how China’s position in the global economic system might change given the transformation of neoliberalism?
