2025-07-14 13:55:39 +0000 UTCMy take on the music montage which I do not think that the boys touched on was the music being played in the Mississippi juke joint in the 1920s was the music that birthed funk, rock n roll, hip hop etc. it all originated from blues, gospel music and African beats. By having them all jam together shows the connective tissue and how it the past and the future are all connected. How that ties into the themes of the movie I’m not sure but it was a really cool touch. Perhaps joes theory about them being rebellious music throughout history and the oppression of black people being a constant while they evolve musically I’m not sure. Would love to hear the directors take. Over to YouTube.
