Some news~

L: This month was so busy, we were barely finding minutes to get rest! We completely moved into new place and now we are trying to make some decorations to make the place looks cozy (it literally looks like construction site right now). That's why we made so little updates here this month and I'm sincerely apologise for that!

Anyway, Grimm and me were working on the Act 3 in our freetime. Many things were added and reworked, and I guess you will see a lot of updates - and streams I hope! - in May~

(Also, 1st May is my Birthday! 😁)

So, now tell me your thoughts about the second chapter! What do you think about Kariom? What of cameo character you meet in your walkthrough? Who is your favourite character in this chapter and why?
And what would you like to discuss with characters? I'm considering new extra dialogues right now, so I'm going to use your suggestions as inspiration for myself 👀

I really like how the story has huge twists. That is how a story should be. I love the soundtrack. Especially at Marestail’s show it’s like an epic anime showdown. I wonder how much of Rouis memories are real, if Roui just had Kariom’s memories transferred then maybe he never even met Bo and my fanart of them is non-canon. That is a disturbing thought! I like that cinematic at the exit of the Slough, I didnt expect a jumpscare I swear I almost flipped my chair! Also I like that creatures big collar, very fashionable! Rasko sounds like a gang boss casually making small talk before murdering someone. Or maybe he is just in a good mood. Serban’s revelations are quite interesting, he seems to be exceptionally attuned to the flat, perhaps he will grow up to be a melalo one day. I hope he will continue to play a part of the story, and I wish to ruffle his hair as well. I really liked Anoosh’s quest line. The picture of that wedding between Roban and Candy is just exquisitely weird. I can’t help but wonder who that lady on the bottom of the page might be, I’m mildly frustrated that she is unclickable lol, perhaps she is Rouis soul mate we will potentially never know! Raakel is an interesting character, although her magpieness doesn’t seem connected to her quest line. Perhaps there could also be something about her accepting her parba heritage. I really like how Alek’s feet look when he is kneeling in front of his shed. I wanted to draw kneeling sahashes before but didn’t know how! I’m rather surprised that the dialogue with Phollie is skippable. She seems rather important. I want to talk more to Lazy. She could comment on the disappearance of the Rasko’s suit. I wish there was more dialogue with Fel. Perhaps Roui could bring her some latorian wine and cheese he finds in Brilla’s vardo to cheer her up. Also I wish the veve book could decipher the veves on Alek’s shed. I just realized that the snake can turn into the bracelet by reading the journal. I thought the bracelet dropped off its body when it came out of the frame or something. A line or two of dialogue could make this more clear. When I heard about needing a watch I went to the installation at the entrance to the cemetery. Perhaps Roui could say something about why those watches are not suitable. I wonder what was that text that appears when Roui looks at the bracelet when he is back in the vardo. Is it ghost Milosh voice? Maybe Roui would have something to say about hearing ghost voices? I’m not sure the part where Juny is telling about the spelling of her name makes much sense in english. I wish there were akspers in the game. I really like them with their cute big neck eyes and all that. I find it strange that Urosh's notes would just sit there for who knows how long. Perhaps there could be some sort of secret compartment that stores it in the goblin statues jaws or something. A veve on the statue could provide a clue. Maybe the shovel can open it, Roui has that with him anyway. I found it rather strange that the coin box seems to shatter after it jumps out of the projector screen then it appears on the table. Shouldn’t it fall onto the table instead? At first I thought something went wrong with creating the box before noticing it was on the table. Perhaps Kariom saying something about the box being there would make it more obvious. Having an actual copy of Junyver’s list would be nice. I totally forgot the thing about the proof of death. Or perhaps the three items could be listed in the journal entry. This is more about chapter 1 but I think it is extremely difficult to find the DLC content. I as a player would look at the billboard on Rasko’s vardo when I first explore the Hill Camp. After seeing that it displays only flavour text I would only look at it again when stuck. Perhaps the wooden horse could appear in the pond after choosing the shovel route and begin the quest line. I also wish to know more about Rouis dad, he seems like sucha cool guy, I hope he will appear in chapter 3. I look forward to Karioms interactions with characters other than Roui. I hope I didn't sound too critical lol the game is very very juicy, like a big plump rotisserie chicken, I love it!

man the showdown between marestail and roui was insanely good and probably my favorite cutscene in the entire game so far. i totally agree with you, even if roui has a big mouth or might be wrong here, it must be so humiliating to be in his situation. Imagine vocalizing beliefs that you feel SO strongly about, only to be proven wrong in front of an entire crowd of people. Poor guy haha. I'm so excited to see how roui and elias will interact in the future. they might have beef for a bit lmao

Chapter 2 and both of its Acts have me craving the 3rd part so bad. The cliffhanger leaves so many ideas in the mind as to what might happen, and all the different paths to get there makes one wonder how Roui might have different avenues to solve his new predicament Starting at the beginning, I like the switch to Kariom since it's done subtly and yet you can tell by the way he talks that we're not playing as Roui anymore. Kariom is really interesting because he has such an inflated ego but you can tell a lot of it is to cope with the inferiority he feels. You can tell he hasn't dealt with something quite like this yet and predictably he breaks down later. I love how Roui acts as his foil as well as a counterpart. They're so similar and yet so different, with the potential to be either enemies or friends. Looks like the former is what we're getting right now. I hope it's a relationship the player gets to help develop, and after the end of Act 2 I feel like Kariom will be one of the only allies on Roui's side The Slough is really interesting too, because Kariom's "death" seems to have happened a long while ago, but from the time he enters it to when he plucks Roui out seems like no time at all, further showing the way time flows (or rather doesn't) in the Slough. Roui's "Fire" attribute is also really interesting, and I hope that's explained/expanded on. Lock Mereoak describing him as having his own will gives me hope that Roui can escape the same fate as Milosh. Junyver is such a cool and mysterious character, too! She's quirky without shoving it in her face and I love her no-nonsense attitude. I feel that her and Roui can have a good friendship if they both cultivate it, and I look forward to that in the future. I've stated it in my Steam review, but I think TCoL excels at character writing. There's less focus on tropes and more focus on just writing people. I think my favorite example of this here is Rasko, who is described as being angry at Roui for missing his party and even in chapter 1 you get an idea about him in your head that doesn't match who you meet in Ch2A2. All the characters are complex and you can tell there's a lot going on with all of them One moment I love in Act 2 is Roui's conversation with Serban, and the reveal that Serban also got pulled into Kariom's memories. It made me really emotional to see Roui react so strongly to the thought of the family member he feels closest to (at least in my playthroughs) going through what he did. It also raises a question as to why that happened in the first place. The connection to Milosh? Is this "fire" attribute something to do with their family? (Even Emeral describes her gambling skill as 'fire in her hands', which is a great touch, and i wonder if it has further meaning) The scene with Roui and Elias/Marestail on the stage seems like a total nightmare, and that feeling is nailed by the presentation. One can't help but think Roui brought it upon himself, but you also still feel intense sympathy/empathy for him in his position. I do wonder if Roui and Elias will interact at all after this, because I do feel like they don't have to be enemies. This is getting long and unfocused, so I'll answer the character question now. It's hard for me to pick favorites, as I love all of the characters here. If we're going by the rotating NPCs, I've only gotten the route for 2 of them (Anoosh and Kudret) and I absolutely love Anoosh. He's an artist like me, has a traumatic past that he was able to escape from, and does illegal work that doesn't hurt anyone. He's also completely my type. I can't wait to see the other two characters when i find time to play the other routes! Thank you again for sharing this world with us
