I need your advice: Limited Run Games Part 2 + Company X + Other Videos
Added 2022-08-13 21:11:22 +0000 UTCHello friends. I wanted to give you guys an update on my next couple of videos closing out 2022 and going into Q1 2023.
I have, currently, two major videos that I am working on. A Limited Run Games (Part 2) and a video on Company X--which I am not disclosing at this time since I believe that they will likely file a lawsuit against me, and I'd rather have it get as much distribution beforehand as possible. If that sounds a bit extreme, I promise I'm very seriously expecting it.
So here's my dilemma, currently:
I believe that the LRG video is going to have the widest possible reach, because it's a follow-up to my best performing video and it's a good time to hate LRG. They keep making people mad. I wouldn't normally even do a follow-up, it's not really my style, but I've been contacted by some people who have some significant accusations about things going on inside LRG. The claims are extreme, potentially crossing into accusations of illegal activities. I would very much like to give this video the chance it needs to be researched properly. I believe this will take me until February or March of 2023 to do correctly, including interviews, travel, research, waiting for statements in response, and more. Additionally, Dougie has even stated publicly he intends to offer me an interview to 'clear things up,' though I do not believe he will follow through with this.
My second video, on Company X, I want to release after the LRG2 video. My reasoning for this is simple--Company X is basically unknown as a name; you know what they produce, you know who the work with, but they themselves are very quiet in the background. I have a lot of accusations against them as well, from a huge swath of people, but it's ultimately not very pro-Algorithm to push out this video about a company no one has ever heard of, especially considering they are likely to sue me. Yes, very seriously, I expect to be sued for this one.
So, I would like to work on Company X and LRG2 concurrently, and have Company X ready to go out two or three weeks after LRG2 goes live.
What this means is that I will have to figure out what to produce for the remaining 4 months of 2022. Do I produce nothing? Well, that feels very bad to ask you to support me for six months for nothing at all. Do I produce lower quality videos? No, that's against the whole idea here.
That has lead me to the obvious answer: I produce 2 or so algorithmically friendly, less passionate videos. Something I can 'Scott The Woz' and release to a wider audience that will help generate revenue, interest, and maintain audience interactions over the next six months or so.
As you are my Patrons, it makes sense to ask you guys for thoughts. Give me the video you want me to make, and if I think it's something I can do, I might just do it. I'm looking for subjects that I can produce a 30-60 minute video about that doesn't require significant interviews, hundreds of sources, or playing thousands of hours of an MMO to achieve.
What's your advice?
