Gigantic Game Pickups Video!

Hey everyone! Try here. Coury and Audi (from Digital Foundry / Limited Run Games) were visiting recently and after Coury had to go back home, we went to A LOT of game stores. So here's a nearly 3 hour video with Audi and me going through our entire haul! It's kind of absurd and embarrassing how many games we picked up...

Let us know how you like this sort of content. Do you think it's good enough to eventually release to the public without harming our standing with THE ALGORITHM? It was a lot of fun to shoot and was pretty easy to edit, aside from the sheer length of it. I think I could quite efficiently edit similar content that is maybe 1/3 of the length and make it a bit more polished without putting more time into it than is worth it.

At any rate, thanks as always for supporting us, and I hope you'll enjoy watching and/or listening to the video!

Loved it! as will all your videos!

It was made private so that it could be scheduled for public release this morning. You should be able to watch it now!

Why was this video made private? Would have loved to watch it.

I LOVED it. Don’t know much about the ALGORITHM, but I know I’d watch another one! Great background at work.

I actually do have these games, and I played them a few years before I discovered the truth of Mizuguchi games (that being that they have nothing to do with rhythm). I have Extreme 2 on DS and Extreme 1 in the Switch collection!

My Life in Gaming

Try, if you like Mizuguchi-style "your actions create music" games, Space Invaders Extreme 1 and 2 do very similar things by timing the sound effects to the beat of the music. SIE1 is available many places, but SIE2 is still DS-exclusive, and the DS version of SIE1 is the only version of that game to my knowledge that incorporates rumble to the music, as well as the option to use the Taito spinner peripheral. For those reasons, the DS version is still my favorite!

I mean... it's not THAT much longer than some of your other content, ha. The algorithm likes pickup videos from what I can tell anecdotally. But it might cause issues because the style is so different. Getting this many games at a time is pretty rare, but I would be interested in watching some shorter pickup videos on a weekly or monthly basis? Would be a fun additional patreon bonus.

I've been picking up a lot of Wii games I missed since they are still affordable. I really like the system. A lot of interesting, experimental games with motion controls that work fine on that system. With the image quality, I managed to get a console with the pixel bug fix and the Retrotink 5x and its CRT filters makes Wii games look amazing.

This was fun to put on in the background while working. Will it harm your algorithmic standing? Probably. The algo hates length. I enjoyed it though. Anyone who likes retro games just always wants to see what other stuff people find. maybe y'all should start a 2nd channel for gameplay and longer hanging out stuff to avoid algortithm punishment.
