MLiG Presents: Digital Foundry Final Fantasy XIV Console Analysis!

Hey everyone! Try here. I was given the incredible opportunity by our friends at Digital Foundry to create a DF episode on Final Fantasy XIV. Currently, this episode is in early access for the DF Supporter Program (their own Patreon), but we were given the go-ahead to share it with our supporters as well! It will go live to the public on Saturday, so for now, just keep this link to yourselves!

Even if you don't think you have any interest in FFXIV, you might be surprised by this video. I am not a hardcore player of the game, nor do I particularly have much interest in the broader MMO genre. I just like FFXI, FFXIV, and DQX because I am a fan of those series, and I show a lot of things in this video to demonstrate why I feel FFXIV is something that Final Fantasy fans should not miss - the music is incredible, the art direction draws inspiration from the series' roots, and the story gets so crazy good you'll be hooked once you get past the 2.0 world-building type stuff (over the course of the expansions, it turns into the best overall story the series has had since IX by far, in my opinion).

The episode goes through the entire history of the game, from its tech demo origins, failed launch, rebirth, and then a full analysis of every console release. So basically, just think of this as a bonus MLiG episode that is not on the MLiG channel - but it has a ton of the DF Framerate analysis stuff going on too, so it's a fun blend! I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it!

This was great, Try! Idk if you saw Richard's nice compliment of your work here on their DF direct recently, but it was well earned!
