Great box unboxing. You really, truly oughta finish NiGHTS. The second character has an entirely different set of levels that are insanely fun (if you can dig the NiGHTS gameplay, and it sounds like you can) and it's a super quick playthrough, less than an hour. You would be missing out on some god-tier music tracks as well (up there with, say, Astal or Guardian Heroes caliber). Hell the Xbox 360 version has the PS2 and original versions (though the Saturn emulation is a tad dark). The gameplay is silky smooth on Saturn using that analog controller (my 6 button Jelly Donut Saturn do-it-all fight pad of doom), and it works great with Sega Rally to boot.
