History
Developed by Tecmo, this belt-scrolling action game was first released in North America and Europe in October 1988, note that the Japanese release came later! The evil general Bladedamus, who has the blood of Nostradamus in his veins, had kidnapped the President of the USA, and what they had in their hands was the command switch to launch an ICBM. As was customary in America in the 80's, they called two ninjas from Tokyo to crush Bladedamus' organization. The game is full of ninja-like five-body techniques, such as the "Hang Kick", the "Flying Neck Throw" and the "Tightrope Walk".
There are five types of items. They are hidden within objects (like bins) but you cannot destroy them with your attacks but by throwing an enemy at them. Also, if an enemy throws you at them!
Mini ninja doll: 1UP
Clock: time +20
Sword: crush up to 10 enemies! You lose it when advancing stage
Small / big jewellery: more points
Red Capsule / Blue Capsule: energy recovery
Final boss Bladedamus (round 6)
If you stand exactly on the vertical axis with him, he will not move at all. Then you move quickly to his elbow and launch a series of attacks!
The Core
For once, this core is derived directly from MAME, with small changes where it makes sense from a hardware perspective. I have two boards of this game (thanks to Yeahbuddy and Raul Chicon) but they are full of customs and even regular logic has the product numbers erased. So, rather than trying to extract schematics for the full board, I decided to make the core first to identify which parts of the board are worth examining.
Thanks for your continuous support for the last six years. We have come a long way, from supporting only Ghosts'n Goblins to covering more than 1,000 games. I count on you for 2025.

In the analogue pocket version of namco system 1, the world stadium is displayed upside down by default. Please tell me how to save the service mode settings and return to the title. I made sure to use the latest beta.bin file, and am on the latest Pocket version and the latest version of PUpdate. Still can't get certain betas to work. It says it's missing keys for: jotego.jtflstory jotego.jtngpc jotego.jtriders jotego.jts18 jotego.jttwin16 jotego.jtxmen I even manually put in the keys in the common folder for each core, even though I don't need to, and it still doesn't work. I'm not sure what to do here.

2025-01-13 07:39:20 +0000 UTCI don't know if you fixed this already or not, but I ran into the same issue and think I know the fix. I'm on MisterPi also, and I went into update_all settings (press up when prompted) and under 6 Extra Content, I had Arcade ROMs Database toggled off, which may be a default settting or something, so I turned that on and I think that was necessary to download the arcade ROM zip into the games/mame folder that is reported missing. Hopefully that works!

2025-01-12 21:27:07 +0000 UTCI tried using the Beta key from this release and even extracted the bin file and placed it in every common folder for JT cores under Assets, and I still get this error when running PUpdate, and the cores still don't work for me. Is there something else I'm missing? I was following the steps in GitHub but still got an error saying that licenses are missing for the following cores: jotego.jtflstory jotego.jtngpc jotego.jtriders jotego.jts18 jotego.jttwin16 jotego.jtxmen

When I try to start ShaddowWarriors and The Fairyland Story I get a similar error games /mame/shaddoww.zip/21.4b 21.4b not found Sorry if it is obvious what courses the error Thanks JOTEGO for bringing all these nostalgic games to life again - I love it

2025-01-08 10:27:08 +0000 UTCThank you so much for this core! I remember playing this arcade game in a local video rental store growing up. Much appreciated seeing this come out. One bug I want to report though on the X-Men core: The latest update now just shows the Jotego credits overlayed on the game and it cannot be removed. It just keeps scrolling and won’t go away with any button press. As such, you cannot play the game.

2025-01-05 16:44:08 +0000 UTCAs an owner of the actual boards with a graphics issue that I have been putting off trying to fix (bad opticoupler, I believe), I am therefore very happy to see this release and soon learn more about these enigmatic boards with no schematics that I could find out there. The arcade manual is very... reduced for this one. It appears the MarsFGPA team is also working on a core and documentation which is great too. I really had to scrape the internet to find out about my boards' potential fix o.O It would be lovely to have more info at last! Thanks!
