2024-05-18 07:56:37 +0000 UTCI use Pocket with its screen and also Mister where I use either HDMI tv or Jamma cabinet with arcade 15kHz CRT for playing with friends (sometimes alone too, of course). Then I occasionally use rotatable computer HDMI monitor for vertical screen stuff. My default setup is 17 inch VGA screen used with scandoubler. I think VGA screens are very good option, because the image quality / sharpness is good, it is CRT, often has good controls for geometry and the 17 inch screen is "ideal" size and flat(ish). VGA monitors are also not as rare / expensive as good 15kHz screens. Only problems are that not all cores support scan doubling (you can use vga scaler of course) and there is no scan doubling for interlaced content (again vga scaler is an option).
