As you probably all know, Furrtek made an awesome research work on the Konami chips used in the TMNT arcade game. These chips are used in other games and I had made my own version of them based upon his detailed findings. The JTALIENS core uses those chips, for instance.

Furrtek was working on a MiSTer core for TMNT, for which there is a preview available. It is playable but it has some problems. After asking Furrtek for permission so as not to be in the middle of his development roadmap, I decided to make my own core for this board.

Atrac17 and DJHardrich loaned this system to me a while ago. Atrac17 has also tested this new core thoroughly and we think there are not bugs. The sound mixing can be improved but I am leaving that for the future. I’d like to spend some 3-4 weeks modelling the analog sound output of all these chips better and then apply the findings to all cores. But, we need to catch up with the core backlog first.

The new JTTMNT core is available for the usual platforms at the usual locations. It is likely that it can be expanded to support several other games, as a minimum, Missing in Action (Green Beret 2) should work with just small changes to it.

Work on NGP continues. We found a small bug in one of the CPU instructions but it didn’t have an effect on the games. On the schematic front, Esperanza has started Turtles in Time after her work on the Simpsons was complete.

Same here, got both TMNT and Simpsons but aliens still has the credits scrolling despite following the same process that worked previously.

Hey Jose, noticed the other day while playing that while battling Rocksteady boss level 1 Leo’s shadow and Rocksteady’s shadows were overlapping with each others characters and looking a little weird. Have you come across this issue?

Great to see all the work going into making the Pocket live up to its potential, thank you! As a relative newcomer to the scene, is there anything that needs to be done to the ROMS to make the emulation work? I keep getting "Error in Framework Missing 'ROM' ID [1]" error despite placing the World X version in the Common folder. A "catch up how to" would be really useful if you get the time.

Can't say thank you enough for all your hard work in getting these cores up and running! Relative noob here who needs a little help (and advance forgiveness if this is a stupid quandary). I'm having difficulty obtaining the necessary ROMs to run the 2 player version. I'm working on a Mac and neither MRA converter tool is compatible. Any files I find via search engine when unzipped are folders with multiple non-ROM files. Not sure what to try next, but any help would be appreciated!

Oh there is no problem, Super Street Fighter 2 New Legacy on your CPS2 core, goes up to the v0.7 and I was wondering if it can be updated to the latest v0.8? The newest version was released last month.

I don't see a US 2 Players MRA for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the package.

Got the 2 player versions running. You have to use the arcade mra files and to load you have to load the base file (which I used a standard mra for) and run arcade game from menu. Hope that helps anyone having trouble.

One game away from having a clean sweep of the Konami style turtles games on the Pocket, plus the Simpsons. I have been getting in tons of practice thanks to these new cores.

Yes it was indeed some problem with the rom files. I deleted the rom and used update all again and now it is working. tnx for the fast reply

The jtbeta.zip is not related to this. You seem to not be using a correct ROM file.

I always get this error when starting the rom: games/mame/tmnt.zip/963a31.g19 not found ... And a similar message also pops up when i try to start the simpsons . I put the jtbeta.zip in the right place and the jtfriday.zip as well. And used update all as well . Can anyone pls help me out ?

Ah for me the Set2 had the same issue once I changed the controls in that. I got the ROMs via the Update All script.

think everyone was expecting X-Men after it was mentioned in last weeks update but no-one will be complaining about an improved version of what Furrtek started. It'd be great if this means we're going to get a load of Konami cores from that era in the not so distant future. Very exciting stuff!
