0.3.0 and onwards

Hey all,

I hope you're all enjoying the new update, I've been reading people's comments and suggestions to better improve the game whilst doing some bug fixing on the sideline.

If you find any issue then please let me know or if you have any ideas/suggestions feel free to comment as well.

For 0.3.0, I have a rough draft already but I wanted to make it bigger than the 0.2.0 update so it might take longer to do. 0.2.0 had two new maps already and they seem sort of empty, so what I had in mind for the upcoming update is that if I do add a map, I would just make one while increasing the number of events for the whole game overall.

The next map would definitely be the Basement so now I want to ask you all, do you want it as big as the other current maps or do you want it to be a bit smaller? I'll still need to design it a bit so suggestions would be great before I start doing it.

I would also be adding a lot of quality of life stuff, such as more flower circles (for teleportation) and making some of the areas a bit more brighter.

That's it for now, I'll post about the planned content on 0.3.0 probably this coming week or the next one.

Thanks for the suggestion, I actually do try to design the maps as big as they can be without being "too much" since that would give me room to put in more future events without needing to expand them again. Some of them I already planned up to fill those empty rooms in the maps while a small percentage actually are just there for aesthetic. I've been thinking of adding more events as I go through the main story and progression, so players will have a reason to comeback to those old maps eventually, like maybe at one point Fogwoods would look vastly different after reaching a certain chapter, etc. There are also events that I want to be map-specific that aren't tied to progression at all, these would mostly be the ones that would liven up the maps. So currently it really does look empty at some places, but I don't plan to abandon those.

The corruption part right now does feel weird for me, because like you pointed it out, it is kinda fast and also that there's really not much of it other than being requirements to see certain scenes, with some different dialogues here and there. That particular scene (titjob) or some scenes like it, I wrote it like that since if Alissa is fine with being seen naked and going around as such, then she should be fine with performing that action. Her personality and what I think what she would do in that scenario is the basis of what I would my write in my script/dialogue. If I want corruption to work how I want it to be while expanding the game, I definitely agree that I need to slow it down and make it more than a simple requirement while keeping Alissa's feelings on things intact. I'll take my time to find a system that works, especially that there are events and items that lower corruption so there should be an incentive why someone should decide to go lower corruption as well.

Hello Grimdeity, to take inspiration and opinion from others is good but never forget you are the Creator, the ARTIST this your story. So enough dumb ass obvious lecture lets get more constructiv. Lets evalute the forest map to get a comparison, the design is surely good and the ambience to but if we look at the size it feels like theres empty room that could used for minor events or other stuff. Surely I don´t know your future plans for the forest, I could be entirely wrong but it feels a bit empty like their is unused potential in there at least if we would evaluate it now by the stuff you do there and the free room. So I would say design the maps size by the the stuff you want there to happen. Surely they can be non eventfull rooms just for the esttetic. Its only a suggestion.

Oh didn't read the the "Short" Game part. Not sure how big the game is supposed to be anyways. It was just a small pointer.

There's a quest journal now or do you mean outside of that? I can go slow down for the corruption sure, and the requirements a bit lower I guess.

Maybe add Quest objective somewhere in the menu. And maybe a but slower on the corruption.
