Gambit Sketches and Thumbnails
Added 2023-01-23 00:23:21 +0000 UTCI wanted a completed pin-up at launch so going forward I'll post these WIPS and sketches as I finish them.
So I always start by doing really loose thumbnails sketches. Mostly to come up with poses I like, play with concepts, etc. Initially, I was thinking of having him in his basketball get-up if you all remember that moment in the comics. Then I thought a poolside or beach theme could be cute. Maybe Rogue on a beach chair behind him, checking him out.
I ended-up keeping it simple and just having his being sultry on a bed. Once I picked that one, I did a quick color rough. I wanted the sheets on the bed to be leopard print because Gambit has a tinge of that cheesy, trashy sex appeal and I wanted that to come through in the final. He also had his pants/boots on but I decided to nix that because I knew I would get so many comments about shoes being on the bed. XD
