This is sort of a WIP post as well as I'm trying to figure out the process I use for drawing the stuff I've been making lately. Hopefully analyzing my steps gets me closer to optimizing my process!

This was done rather fast where I play with ideas. I was thinking of a head-on pose with a wide angle effect. I expected a lot of overlapping forms in perspective from the head to the body.

I wanted to go for the arms tucked below the jaw. It looks like a hot mess because I tried to figure out the forms of the torso, back, and legs in perspective. I guess I have this habit of not erasing lines that do not contribute to the final form. I feel though doing so just lower the energy in it but looking at this sketch just makes it look vague. Because of this I end up spending more time making a more refined sketch layer

Okay, it turns out the folded arms couldn't make sense, anatomy-wise so I just decided to spread them out. I suppose it helped with the silhouette, too so I stuck with that. I had a bit of trouble with the leaf on the head. It still looks like a hot mess, but it's a better hot mess.
So finally I tied stuff up already as well as the forms, anatomy and shapes. I ended up using the "Liquify" tool to change the shapes (which is actually rather effective!).
And finally, here's how I got to lining and coloring the thing! As usual, I use my good friends multiply, and color dodge for the lighting effects!
