It’s actually all digital! 😉 Normally I do all my lineart with an aliased pencil tool to make adding flats and making quick, pixel-precise selections a lot faster, but I wanted the flashback scenes to have a more traditional feel to them so I used brushes that mimicked graphite and watercolors. I guess that makes the harsh aliasing on the speech bubbles more obvious lol

I notice that the speech bubbles seem to be digital additions - they're made of clean pixels with no antialiasing (on page 111, at least). The speech inside the bubbles *does* look blurrier to me. But it also appears to be a font; letters take exactly the same form pretty consistently. (I think.) I'm curious about the line "Raven and I will just have a word, and we can do the divination after the-" -- the H in 'have' appears to be a different glyph than the two Hs that appear in 'the' and 'the'. My best guess is the font is applying a TH "ligature"?
