Ramble: How Disney would ruin defunct rides

He's kind of this generation's "cheeky rascal" character and they would keep the part where Stitch eats a chili dog and then burps on you, and just say it's Deadpool burping on you after a chimichanga (which I believe is one of the unfunny things associated with Deadpool)

This is so specific but rewatching this and having a vivid flashback to being 11 on stitch’s great escape and there’s a part where he burps (?) at you or something and the smell made me really upset and genuinely followed me for the rest of the day. I feel like I can smell it even now

2026-02-02 05:12:27 +0000 UTCWhen I was like 6 or 8 I got off my favorite attraction, the laugh floor, and saw stiches great escape with no line and since the building looked similar I begged my Dad to go on it. And there was no one there but my family and it was my absolute favorite thing we did in magic kingdom (other than the laugh floor) and when I found out they got rid of it the next time I went I was actually a bit devastated. So it's wild to know that it actually replaced a objectively cooler more interesting ride.

2026-01-26 21:29:04 +0000 UTCSlightly off topic but combining this post and going back to your previous posts on favorite defunct rides and favorite animatronics: 1) Start by saying I am ancient and as a tiny human actually experienced the original Figment Journey Into Imagination, Listen To The Land, and Horizons. I remember having the soundtrack on cassette tape too. One side was Magic Kingdom. The other Epcot. It also had the original Main Street Electrical Parade (the one with the Moog synths) and it being the most joyous song as a kid. 2) Love your lists and know you aware of the defunct Cranium Command and Buzzy from the old Wonders of Life and wondering your thoughts and where it ranks. It was likely the last great new Epcot experience, unless you accept the new Frozen ride, which I can't since they sacrificed Maelstrom. LOL.

I used to love the super bomberman 3 game for the snes and especially the kangeroo character you could ride (I used to call it haasje which is Dutch for little hare but I guess it being a kangeroo makes more sense). Have been looking for a plush of it but haven't found it yet so I might have to get creative and make one myself 😅🐇

I was sure I rode it before, but I was sure I couldn't have rode it before, so I just dismissed it as deja vu. I loved Honey I Shrunk the Audience. Universe of Energy too.

2025-10-29 01:14:24 +0000 UTCWhy am I learning of this awful change right now, in my sweatpants, in front of my supplements, instead of being tenderly spoken to by a dear friend, over hot tea? 😫 Also, my friend, Tom Bancroft, legendary Disney character designer and animator (like Mushu), worked on the original version of this ride, which was an alien-escape ride. He told me that he recalls thinking this ride was not appropriate for children, though, as an adult, it was awesome. And he was correct. It horrified children and was shut down and redesigned.

Maybe it's just cause I don't have the nostalgia, this was my first time going to disneyworld ever and I was 30 lol I was mostly excited just to see the animatronics. Also they are closing Dinosaur?? Thank goodness I got to ride it, I loved it, I rode it twice while I was there

2025-08-21 00:28:52 +0000 UTCI did a recent trip to Disneyland, and the thing that struck me when you mentioned the PeopleMover is how barren Tomorrowland is with rides over there. Like, it's not *absent* of rides, but between Finding Nemo, Autopia, and Astro Orbiter you have three rides that really aren't worth the waits they engender and just aren't to everyone's tastes, and then outside of that? When I went Star Tours was under refurbishment, leaving the only rides I actually cared to do being Buzz Lightyear and Space Mountain. It's just in such a contrast to Magic Kingdom, where you at least still have Carousel of Progress, PeopleMover, and Laugh Floor, two of which are shows and one of which rarely has super long waits, so you're at least always guaranteed to find something to do. But since Disneyland destroyed the PeopleMover track and decided to inexplicably leave both the Tomorrowland Theatre and Innoventions building vacant....you just have, like *nothing* over there if one of the three rides of value go down. In general I think Disneyland has the upper hand over MK, but Tomorrowland is the one area they're getting their ass handed to them by other parks.

I really hope she says Elon Musk" and then finally when you said it I started laughing and clapping at the fact I predicted it. I also can't wait to see what this "mystery bad movie" is - I'm honestly more excited to finally learn what it is (and if I've ever heard of it before or if it's super obscure) than I am for the Barbie video (although I am quite excited for that too).
