Bonus: Toverland (& Aardbeienland)

Hello all! This month's ramble video is a little behind. In trying to edit my first pass at the topic, I ultimately am just not satisfied with it and don't think it's engaging enough. I've decided to re-record it with a different approach to the topic.

In the meantime, here is another theme park bonus video to tide you over!

There is or was a water carousel type ride in Canobie Lake Park in NE where you’re on a water plane and you skim the water then go into the air. Very fun, I remember falling into the water though when getting off. I was fine! I wonder if it’s still there.

I gasped when you mentioned Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders

It's a common dad trait to be able to do a perfect duck impression. My dad does it too lol

Autumn Taylor

I thought Jenny was making the horse sounds at first lol!

Vaelyhn

Somehow just based on your big dog shirt dad archetype comparison I was able to assume the man behind you was bald and I was correct 😭

I find it so weird someone would make fun of people for enjoying a theme park, especially when they are there themselves. I've had annual passed to some of the parks in orlando and when I see/hear people enjoying the park I just think its nice? Even if I'm not super excited about a ride I'm on, seeing other people really excited about it is fun, I'm glad they are enjoying it. Idk why people can't just let others be. Glad you were able to go on again without the backseat commentary.

Celozon

When you went into the gift shop my dumb ass thought you were still in the boat for a second lol

Monkee Toupee

In the Willow show on Disney plus there's a creature that looks so much like the tallymally I bet jenny would love it!

Kyla M

lol

There is a similar horse ride at Legoland CA; it’s called the “jousting horses” or something like that. I always loved that peaceful lil’ ride, too bad they have an age cap and I eventually got kicked off :(

Jillian Melgosa

He was just a screen! They had physical props "floating" in front of him to dress it up

Jenny Nicholson

Do the Tallymallies have lore? What are they?

plz put this name after 'plz put this name last thx jenny' thx jenny

That was closed the last time I went and grimy to the extent that we thought it might be an old defunct attraction, otherwise we definitely would've gone on it

Jenny Nicholson

Was Merlin himself an animatronic, or one of those projection/screens?

It's so surreal to see a place that's dear to me and that I have fond memories of in a video! I've never been to the Disney parks so it was great to experience the nostalgia I'm sure a lot of people love from your videos for myself. I'm so glad you appreciated Toverland, it's definitely geared towards younger kids like you mentioned but it's so charming and as someone who's not huge on rides I could go on everything. I recommend if you'd ever go again to try Maximus' Blitz Bahn, it's a fun time and it's got a wacky steampunk inventor type character bringing you through the ride with a really interesting queue area before the ride itself. You didn't miss much on the log flume ride, it's very short, although there is from memory a troll character in the top area before the drop, and sometimes the ride makes you go down backwards. The other I'd recommend is the Dwervelwind (Dwarf Wind although the meaning is more like Dwarf Hurricane) where there's lots of lovely glowing mushroom props before the ride. Also, Toos is my Oma's (grandma's) name as well! In the area just before the tunnel there's a Toos character that puts on performances sometimes. I'm so glad you managed to go even though you didn't have the chance to spend a lot of time there and I really hope you get a chance to spend more time there one day!

salem willows in salem massachusetts had a water carousel (i actually think it’s still there) and it was boats and they were made of this weird chalky material and i adored them. much smaller than the tolly mollys though

Shelby Hill

there's a similar horse riding ride at legoland ca and it's adorable bc the horses look like the ones that came with old lego sets and you see medieval knights and princesses made of lego as you go around the track! i think it may be height restricted though bc only kids are meant to ride it

Maddy

Why people in the background of videos gotta be mean?
