Top 10 Halloween Media (preview)

Surprise! Well, not really surprise since I said I was making this video, but I don't know, maybe you guys forgot.

This one was shot before the ghost show one but in the interest of not doing two numbered lists in a row I really wanted to do the ghost one first. So it's just going to be released like right before Halloween I guess! Here is the first roughly half of the vid.

(I wasn't going to leave in eating the cough drop because I assumed while shooting that my cheeks are chipmunky enough to disguise when I have a big rectangular lump in the side of my mouth and it became clear in editing that I was wrong)

thanks for the content jenny! i noticed on your ramble options you listed "dark legoland" and i would love if you made a legoland video because thats my childhood park and nobody ever talks about it :(

Kitty

That’s a cool hidden feature! I actually thought it was a Disney film so that’s a little embarrassing. I feel like Don Knotts was really wholesome, I’m almost afraid to go back and see him differently.

James Murphy

I love Mr Limpet. Despite not being a disney character, a full-size Mr Limpet figure makes a secret cameo in Disneyland's Little Mermaid ride! You have to lean out the side of your vehicle to see him

Jenny Nicholson

Exactly.

Tom Bowling

This movie nearly killed me with all the brutal second-hand embarrassment... I lost track of how many times I had to look away from the screen or hide my eyes. One of the most disturbing movies I've watched this month.

If Gremlins isn't a Christmas movie, then neither is Die Hard. And Die Hard is very much a Christmas movie.

Shaun Cheah

I always enjoyed the Simpsons’ Treehouse of Horror specials. Haven't watched the newest ones, but the earlier seasons were great!

Luis

I love the sensitive-yet-corrupt eyes on her green Supreme Leader Smoke knit cap.

Steve Ray

The Ghost and Mr. Chicken was 1966, even before Knotts was on Andy Griffith. I watched The Incredible Mr. Limpet a bunch of times growing up, it's cool that he remained a fixture in so many childhoods.

James Murphy

Maybe you can settle an argument with my friends and I. I say that Gremlins is a Christmas movie. My friends strongly disagree.

Tom Bowling

Glad we’re laying down some ground rules about what constitutes as a Halloween movie with Coraline. Don’t even get me started on people who call Nightmare Before Christmas a Halloween movie. (Including you, Henry Selick)

The BabaDuck

I literally shouted “Jenny Noooo!” when you tossed the glitter. Best jump scare of the season.

The thing about watching that Boy Meets World episode as a kid was it's not like I'd ever watched Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, or...South Park, so every reference to anything like that was brand new to me. Like, the first time I watched South Park and heard "they killed Kenny" I was like OH because I heard that for the first time in the BMW episode. I've also seen it so many times I can practically press play on it in my head at this point.

Julia Collins

I'm old, but I'm glad I'm young enough to have watched Are You Afraid of the Dark? on Snick

Blue Corn

The Craft is probably too old but that's my roomie's go-to. We're watching that one on Wednesday.

Élan Botkin

Thanks for the DCOM recs, Jenny! They're on Disney on Demand for next couple of days (watching Under Wraps right now). Can't wait to see the rest of the list.

YES! The Boy Meets World special! I love that episode. Don't Look Under the Bed is indeed one of my favorite DCOMs - that twist at the end got me too. I was also a huge chicken as a kid and didnt watch Are You Afraid of the Dark until much later in life. This list is pretty to par with everything I love - I can't wait to see more!

Leesah

I've watched The Ghost and Mr. Chicken every year since I was a kid. So jumping on the band wagon, "That a boy, Luther!" Another good one along those lines is Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.

Tom Bowling

It's a bit older, but every year I watch Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. I used to watch it with my grandpa, and it just stuck as a tradition. A cool thing about this movie is Bela Lugosi and Lon Chaney Jr reprise their roles as Dracula and the Wolf Man.

Greg McDaniel

Just wait......

Jenny Nicholson

2017 could've been year of the mummy if it weren't for Universal and their meddling Dark Universe

Sarah Hubbard

I almost forgot about alvin and the chipmunks on my list this year (weird cause i remembered scooby doo and the ghoul school haha) so thank you for reminding me! Haha

Samantha

Man Don Knotts!!!! That is a deep dive!!!

1000thghost

It looks like a porg costume! BB-9E has great taste.

Eric MacMillan

This is a GREAT video so far! I am past a millennial (xennial is a thing I guess) but I found this list totally relatable so far. I can't wait to see the final video!

I'm holding out for Halloweentown to make the top 5 personally but Im already quite pleasantly surprised to see that Are You Afraid of the Dark has made an appearance

Karla Blinoff

Alright alright. I am so down to watch this.

Élan Botkin

Is BB-9E wearing a costume?

Luis

2017 year of the scarecrow and frankenstein

Jenny Nicholson

Wooooh! The ghost and Mr Chicken!!! I did not see that coming!!! I loved that film as a kid.

Bruce Climas

I LOVE PARANORMAN

Patrick Lee

i wonder if jenny likes frankenstein... 🧐
