Thanos has a great plan

Prepare yourself for Captain Marvel then if that's how you feel about Thor.

Blue Corn

Feel free to school me if I'm dead wrong but as a non-fangirl it always seemed like deaths mean nothing in comic book franchises. I'm guessing it's not really about stakes for the fans? I can't imagine unironically believing there is anything meaningful at stake at any point in these hero stories. You know the good guys will win and if the hero somehow dies *for real* it's fine bc you're getting a reboot in a few years. I'd wager it's more about how they execute the storytelling rather than the plot points themselves. Thor getting his eye back was unnecessary unless it was some nod to a comic or something? I don't know. Seemed pointless. Also, I wish Thor got dusted as well. He's just so broken and overpowered. I'd rather see the remaining heroes try to tackle this godlike dude without their OP whimsical surfer d00d god, this was pre-all-infinity-stones but they got pretty close on Titan if not for Starlord. They have Thor so I can't imagine the fight segments in the second movie to be that interesting. Homeboy is just gonna go super saiyan on Thanos' ass a few times. We saw it in Wakanda, he just rekt the Zerg rush pretty much singlehandedly.

Nicholson punches moral relativists in the gut once more.

Bill Holt

Yeah I was disappointed that Thor got his eye back so soon; I thought the eyepatch was a pretty solid direction to take things, really reminded you of whose son he was.

Shaun Cheah

I wouldn't say they would ruin your enjoyment of the film, but I have a hunch that they would diminish it. I dunno, though. There's been studies that seem to have indicated that spoilers sometimes enhance the enjoyment of a film, like how there's that whole website where you can check if the dog dies or not, which would relieve some tension.

Shaun Cheah

I like how this movie emphasized that literally no sacrifices in the MCU mean anything anymore (Thor even got his goddamn eye back for no reason) and then tried to make everyone believe that they killed off Black Panther while his movie is still in theaters

This was one of my big complaints with the movie. I thought Josh Brolin was fine, but the inconsistencies were annoying. Like, good characters can be complex and hypocritical like real people, but his movie plan was even weaker than the comics’ “I’m doing it to impress the girl I like (Death).” Jenny, I have to say, during Dr. Strange and Tony Stark’s interactions I was reminded of your Dr. Strange video, because the snark ping pong was getting super irritating. And then when Star Lord showed up was a high-speed bonus round of sighs. My biggest issue with the film was the painfully obvious bait-and-switch. Like, c’mon, Disney, at least try to trick me. When a lady in the theater near me started crying/sniffling I actually smiled and laughed, because I’m apparently a terrible person. Highlights of the movie for me were Thor and Peter.

Kit (karmaplace)

I liked the movie but these are all fair points.

Andrew Zimmer

This makes me wish we had Twitter logs of all significant diplomatic endeavors throughout history, especially the ones that failed horribly.

John Friedrich

You crack me up so much. You are hilarious.

Brandon Blackmoor

This is the stuff I like the most. Westworld, (Other pitches) Good ol Spiderman. Well done! I wish the studios weren't in this bind where they can't stray from ancient storylines without angering the new religiosity. It's like the same old Church with CG.

Lawrence Whiteside

Or using his burger powers.

Stuart Payne

Will the spoilers ruin my enjoyment of the film? Are there huge twists?

Booty McJohnson

Just like how she stopped racism last year.

Blue Corn

"I hope you're happy."

Blue Corn

Shoutout to that one guy in the comments who was still like "Are there spoilers in this video?" and double shoutouts to that one other guy who simply replied "Yes."

Shaun Cheah

DID YOU KNOW? There was a comic in 2011 called "The Thanos Imperative," where there was indeed an alternate universe where death had been eliminated and everyone was happy and well-fed. Unfortunately, that universe just got more and more filled up until life literally filled the entire universe, which was dubbed "The Cancerverse" cause... it was kind of like cancer. Then it broke into our universe because it needed more room, and the Guardians of the Galaxy realized they needed to re-introduce death into the Cancerverse to save our universe and bring balance. So they brought Thanos there to kill shit. It was an interesting twist on the usual "save the universe" story that I'm positive influenced Thanos's character in this movie and is a counterargument for some of the suggestions for what Thanos could have done. But yeah, controlling fertility rates would have been more sensible lol.

I think you'd like the Mistborn Trilogy, for reasons I can't get into because of spoilers. Let's just say it'll really make you think about the bizarre implications of magical population control.

For those playing at home, Jenny did 12 snaps. If each snap wiped out 50% of the population, we’re now down to 170,000 or so left. Thanks Jenny! You saved the world!!!!
