EA MODS POLICY CHANGE :)

I was watching a video on Youtube about EA's new policy about mods.

On July 21st (2022), they updated their policy.

They stated that it's not allowed to have mods permanently behind any type of paywall. That means that exclusive content that are sold by cc creators are not allowed anymore.

All custom content must be available for download for free.

It is still ok to have supporters, donations, etc, as long as they are optional and not imposed.

Some people are saying that maybe it's EA's response to that problem that happened a few months ago, when some creators were tracking people that shared their exclusive cc without permission. I'm not sure, though. EA never said anything about it, people are just guessing.

Anyway, I don't know if you noticed, but it's been a long time I don't make any exclusive cc. Out of my approximately 100 creations, I guess just 4 of them were exclusive (since they were ideas given by patrons). It's been a while I decided to not make exclusive cc, and just keep these previous ones.

My birthday is on September, I was planning to give these "locked items" as a gift for you on my birthday. Well, usually the birthday person receives gifts... This is not how it works lol Anyway XD

I was not going to talk about this now, but since EA released this statement, I decided to make this post.

EA didn't clarify if early access is allowed or not. Early access is some type of "reward/thank you" creators give the people who support them. The cc eventually become free for everyone. So people are guessing this is ok, since the cc won't be permenently behind a paywall.

To make it short: patrons, donations, passive advertisements, etc are still allowed, as long as they are optional and the content can be downloaded for free/won't be permanetly locked.

I want to say thank you for everyone who support me here on Patreon. Creating cc takes a lot of time, effort, learning, testing the cc to make sure they work and look nice, that they won't crash your game etc etc.

Feel free to support me, and also cancel your subscription at any time :)

If you can support your favorite creators, I'm sure they'll be happy and thankful. But if you can't, it's also ok.
