State of the Game

Evening all, have some big stuff to talk about tonight, so first, to get the usual out of the way: the latest free release is now up on the blog, and the goal for May is more epilogues! We'll be finishing Department epilogues in the first update this month, and then from there it'll be about a month's worth of Specialist scenes.

So to get to the main attraction tonight, I now feel ready to set some dates for Carnal Coup's final release! Or...releases plural, as you'll see. While I expect to have all of the game's content in by the end of June, with a bit of time left over for cleanup tasks, there's not quite as much time for cleanup as I would like so I'll be pushing Patreon development for an extra month past that. So with that in mind, and the usual caveats about how this is all subject to change if disaster strikes, etc etc, here is my current planned schedule:

Now, you may be asking yourself, if there's a 'Final Patron Release', then what happens to the Patreon? My plan is to keep things going, but I will be doing an overhaul of what the Patreon and the tiers are about around August/September. While I am currently still planning to start work on a sequel, between getting Coup 1 launched, doing initial design, and getting a game to the point where something can actually be played, there may be a long stretch where the Patreon leans more towards the 'tip to support' mode of operation than the 'pay for a product' one. I will of course keep you all updated when we come to it.

So, lots to do! In addition to the game work itself I also have a few behind the scenes things I'll need to do to set things up for making this into a business that (hopefully) brings in money, so I'll be navigating a lot of things for the first time in that arena. I hope you're all as excited as I am to see this through to the conclusion, where Carnal Coup can join the relatively small club of 'Patreon games that actually finished'.
