Tbf that depends on the dnd world. Exandria is rich with the history of Gods that actually walked amongst mortals, and have even bequeathed power onto plenty of people. They have literal pages and pages of recorded history to believe in. Then you have a random girl talking about a God that doesn't exist in your pantheon. Not only is she talking about a random that's never been seen before, shes also drawing countless dicks in his name; so dismissing her as crazy is even more probable in their world then it would be in any other

2026-02-19 06:53:36 +0000 UTCProbably my biggest critique of the Mighty Nein is how quick everyone in the party is around Jester to dismiss her god The Traveler as “imaginary”. Considering the role gods and other entities have in the overall D&D settings, it’s a wild statement to tell someone their deity isn’t real just because he isn’t physically revealing himself.

2026-02-18 12:23:09 +0000 UTCThe Blood Hunter class was actually originally created for a one shot promoting the Vin Diesel movie The Last Witch Hunter. Vin Diesel played his character from the movie (which itself was based on a character he played in an older edition D&D campaign). His characters class didn't have a direct port in 5e, so Matt home brewed the first version of the Blood Hunter for Vin Diesel to play in the one shot. Later Matt refined the blood hunter into a real class with sub-classes and everything and published it for the world to enjoy. Molly, was the first Blood Hunter to appear in the main campaigns to my knowledge.

2026-02-17 19:35:34 +0000 UTCIs it a hot take to say I don't care about the Essex/Trent stuff in this show? Trent's a boring pure evil villain without being fun to watch, and while the stuff with Essex 's people and the Beacon is interesting, the character himself is a complete idiot. I'm here for the Mighty Nein, simple as that.

2026-02-17 17:49:01 +0000 UTCIt's very cool to watch, but I imagine it's difficult to play lol.

2026-02-17 17:47:35 +0000 UTCI love component based magic. Mixing different ingredients together to create a reaction, it's like mixing science and magic together so cool

2026-02-17 17:28:47 +0000 UTCI'm sure you've seen previous comments before, but just in case, Jester is a Cleric, specifically a Trickery Cleric, which is why her spells are much more whimsical than Pike's were in Vox Machina.

2026-02-17 04:52:43 +0000 UTCseeing them start to work together in this episode is so cool, especially because the nein have so many absolutely iconic combo moves/teamwork moments throughout the campaign.
