The burden was scanlan knowing he had a daughter that he neglected/abandoned, also when grog clashes his knuckles he can grow like we saw Kevdak do

The broom is much slower than a dragon

Not the blood axe in cr. There are items that do that. Just not this one. Im not sure if theres a dnd made or other weapon called a blood axe that always drip. This is hust a +2, 1d6 necro damage axe that gives hit points when you kill. I know theres an butchers apron that does that.

If I remember correctly Blood Axes have a minor curse. They never stop dripping blood no matter how often you clean them

Since The Matron is the Raven Queen (just under a different name) you don't have to differentiate between the two, but this was a great bit of info

so in the campaign, Grog had super high wisdom but super low intelligence... Percy however, had super high intelligence but really low wisdom. so when he set his own trap off and the one goliath said 'He's not very smart is he?' pretty sure he meant wise, or experienced. <3 some people tend to mistake the two and conflate them into the same thing.

Am I the only one to think Scanlan genuinely fell in love with Leah but because she didn't go with him that led to his womanizing ways. Not to say he blames her, but he was chasing that feeling only to end up feeling more alone. Or something of the like, because if he rolled low on persuasion/deception then he wouldn't sounded so sure it was Leah lol OR he rolled really high on deception but since he said the wrong name it made the roll moot lmao Also the burden is nothing tangible, its the fact that he has to live knowing that not only does he have a daughter but he tried to bed her too. And I think that's a burden with unimaginable weight

Oh man I feel so honored that my questions get picked so much lately 😅 but yeeesss im so excited about this final episode! (And thus season 3 soon!)

The Matron, much like the Raven Queen, despises undeath and undead. This is because, as she mentioned in the show, the transition between life and death is a sacred moment, and the soul must pass on to whatever domain it is claimed by in the afterlife. This also ties into her major domain: Fate. Similar to how the Morrigan is portrayed as weaving a sort of 'tapestry' of fate, the Matron and Raven Queen use similar threaded symbolism to represent the movement, ties, and paths of fate that they watch over. I love that line where the Matron essentially lays out that at the end of every person's fate, there is a single shared experience: Death. Death is the final stepping off point where fate is still being spun for a mortal life, and so the Matron/Raven Queen holds that moment as a principle, all-important experience for all living beings. The interesting thing is that both the Matron, and the Raven Queen are only kind of goddesses of death, yes that is apart of their domain and they watch over the movement of souls from mortality to the afterlife(in the Raven Queen's case, sort of being a guardian of the gate between the two) but more than that both are tied to destiny and purpose.

'There is much to fear, but not death, for it gives meaning to life.' - This line hits a lot harder after losing a loved one. I am sure it meant a lot to Liam when dealing with the death of his mother, and it really means a lot to me too right now. A life well lived is all anyone can hope for I suppose.

More importantly it is *technically* against the rules to teleport into something like that, but again it was funny and clever so w/e. It does also add a bit of humor to the "It really shouldn't have [worked]" line.

Another fun fact about this blood pool in particular. It's celestial blood and thus it never rots or goes bad, it just is eternal

StorytellerDave

"The threads of fate are not puppet strings" is genuinely one of the most profound lines in the series, and I feel like Matt Mercer should be write more often. Dude's already a phenomenal and sought-after voice actor, but he could make a killer screenwriter on top of it.

The Matron: „Draw to your destiny like a flame" Towards Liam's C1 character: Oh that is so beautiful. (Btw I LOVE that whole sequence) / In regards to Liam's C2 character: Well... It is true, but on a MUCH „not so nice" term.

I think the funniest part of Scanlan's plan was Umbrasyl's reaction. The way his pupil dilated was just priceless; there's something about an ancient being such a him being like "WTF??" on the inside that's freaking hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣

I'm not going off of any wiki or anything so I could be wrong, but I always felt that the Matron of Ravens as portrayed on this show is the epitome of true neutrality. She's neither good nor evil -- she just is. When I think about Grog's battle with Umbrasyl back in episode 6, I was always of the opinion that Grog was going to lose that fight. This episode hits home just how tough Umbrasyl really is. Ancient dragons are just that OP. You have to start talking about arch-devils and arch-demons and demigods (or Mr. T -- IYKYK) when you want to find things more powerful than the Great Wyrms.

In the campaign Scalan used Dimension Door to get him and Vax inside the dragon. You aren’t technically allowed to Dimension Door somewhere you can’t see you have to guess a direction and distance, but Matt liked the creativity so he let them roll for the outcome instead of saying no.

Fun fact about a blood pool! (Uh don’t read if that’s too icky) TL;DR: a red blood pool you could swim in and see through makes sense. So blood is made of 3 main parts. Red blood cells, white blood cells, and plasma (mix of proteins and stuff). A giant blood pool would settle overtime. The red blood cells are densest and would settle at the bottom with the white cells on top of them. The plasma would stay in suspension, with the proteins and stuff floating still. Plasma has a kinda straw yellow color so a fresh blood pool would start red, then become yellow as the cells settle. Then is it wrong for it to be red? NO! Red blood cells do not have a long shelf life and rupture, releasing heme which gives them their red color! Therefore as a blood pool sits and the red blood cells rupture the liquid would become more red, but still be clear enough to see through and be much like water!

BLUEMONKEY18

You're correct in the campaign that was a immovable rod.

Vox machina monday!

Since there won't be any Vinland Saga this week, my guess is Wednesday

HBelmont 24

A detail I love is while most everyone is bored out of their minds with Percy's trap explanation, one guy at 19:51 seems to be actually trying to follow along. 😅

HBelmont 24

Do we know when Kaiju 8 is dropping? No rush. Just curious.

Æther Paradox

Scanlan going into a genuinely sweet monologue about who he thought Kaylie's mom was, only for it to be someone else, will never not be funny. And he just doubles down by going off names. Bro really pulled a Gildarts. 🤣🤣
