Well yeah that was back then. By now gon has understood how useful and important a hunters license is. Without it he wouldn't get access to sooo much information let alone open up gings clues in the first place

He does not judge his dad for leaving, he is just curious what about being a hunter is worth it to leave him behind. Gon really is judgement free, he is just a curious little bean.

Killua being tormented by his older brother by force so Gon made sure Killua can expand his life & live his dreams. But kurapika kinda made it his main goal maybe even life goal if you say to kill the Phantom Troupe. Yes Gon save Killua from his toxic family but Gon will never make progress of himself if he’s always worried and concerned about others goals.

Specialist is a broad category of nen that means it doesn't fit into the other five. He created his chain techniques as conjuration techniques. Think about how in JJK they have cursed energy and then they have cursed techniques. The only difference is that here in Hunter Hunter those techniques you can design they're not decided by your bloodline. His emperor time technique is a technique he can only do while his nen type is specialist. The chains he can do even without the Scarlet eyes. But for example the enhancement he used to defend against uvogin and to heal himself. Those are aspects of his power that he can only do to such a high degree because of emperor time when he has the Scarlet eyes
