The girl at the end was the one who was fighting with the two male mages in long robes against the Sensa clone when we first saw her. One of the men got hurt but the other one made it to the final group, he was the one with the long hair and mustache.

Make you wonder what a monsterous battle that was to push her that far while fighting with Eisen, Heiter, and Himmel. It also shows you how pale a comparison the current mages are when they can be taken out with basic shield and attack vs frieren vs frieren that was shattering reality.

I think the attack was raw unrefined mana that isn't truly a spell so it can't be detected. Normally you take mana and turn it into a fireball via a spell. I think mana detection can't detect mana that's left the body WITHOUT being turned into an actual spell. Basically the clone hit her with pure unformed power, not a true spell

Honestly this ep is gorgeous, and I love how philosophical it gets with the visualization and how having knowlege can become a hindrance in some cases as our own intelligence can put the seeds of doubt into our minds. Ubel is a textbook case of sometimes it's better to just not think about it and go.

Which culminated with the replica of Frieren repelling Fern by just visualising that she was repelled. This surpasses all magic which follows a system. Fern said she didn't even recognize it as a spell. This is the genius similar to what Ubel does but on larger scale

Like if someone would sneak up on her in her sleep and just hit her real hard or in general fast and hard hysical attacks without mana (since it would be undetectable) Bc if she is the height of magic as of now than the ultimate weakness would be outside of magic probby

He started believing he could fight it (even if he believed he couldn't finish it) and ended up killing it. Much like übel just wanted to cut the cloak but accidentally cut too deep and killed the proctor

Like Ehre and Scharf who can't even stand after using up their mana. They can imagine the spells they've done thatvbeford but if the juice is out it's out. I believe with fern it was similar that she just had to grow her mana as a child

A lot of people say that Übels magic is like cheating or that she can just say she can cut whatever but the thing is you have to a) truly believe it and b) imagine it really well. a) alone is so difficult. It's like having faith in god. You can say you believe in him but do you truly???? And if you do believe in him can you convince yourself that he doesn't exist??? Or like when you do trust falls and still kinda flinch or tense up, no matter how much you trust the other person the sensation of falling makes youf body react automatically. What we believe in is so difficult to control. And I love that übel still has that limitation that she can't just bullshit it. She can't cut through magic shields bc magic shields are not something you can cut. b) I thought at the beginning that imagination would be rather easy but if you get into the nitty gritty of it it is very difficult. Like I can imagine using a laptop for example but I cannot imagine how the the laptop works, how the electricity travels through it at what time and at what speede etc. In the beginning I was hoping for Kanne to bloodbend but then I tried imagining it and I can't picture each vein in my body nor can u picture what my bladder actually looks like. Like I know how a diagram/picture of a bladder looks like but not how MY bladder looks like nor where exactly it starts and ends and how full it is. I don't even know what color my brain fluid is, so I could not accurately imagine manipulating it. Magic in that way feels like much more of a skill than just learning spells and having mana. Übel is great. Having and seeking empathy much different than frieren who learns spells through a different kind of connection

If we think back to when Flame found Frieren, she was kneeling and there was evidence on the ground that the Demon general she was fighting was thrown backward with force, like Fern was. This means that she potentially knew this spell before Flame. Which might mean that this could be an Elf spell or Elf magic. It is possible all the magic we have seen so far on the show is human or demon magic and we have not been exposed to Elf magic yet.

2025-05-16 14:58:53 +0000 UTCI had a whole class in college centered on the word "genius" and what it means. It is especially interesting that this show is based on the German language. The word goes beyond just current understanding of being smart. It has a weird connection to the word "demon" and "genie" or "djinn" with the idea being that true "genius" is other worldly and chaotic and while it can do a lot of good also careful what you wish for. Also it was the demons from the first town in the north they went to that called her a genius. Im almost looking at Ubel as a foil to Fern and not Frieren with them both being at crazy levels of power and philosphy just encompassing a mage.

So Frieren’s height of magic, with such sheer scale, cannot be detected or even, recognized. Truly a testament to its name👏
