Sadly Kenny walking underwater with a boat like in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ is not possible. You would need to hold down the boat with several tons to counteract the buoyant force. The air would also compress, potentially making it harder to breathe. As well, water might just leak into the air pocket. Although this trick might work at shallow depths; in the scene in this episode of Vinland Saga I believe the English just sneak up on the Vikings by walking neck deep in the water. Sorry if I ranted a bit, my degree is in physics and this is still a misconception because of Pirates of the Caribbean.

I like how in response to Thorfinn calling the dagger "pretty", Thors cuts himself with it rather than just taking it away. It helps make the point that war isn't admirable, and killing isn't something to be taken lightly. Though its unfortunate that Thorfinn still doesn't understand this yet.

To give some insight into "Thors the Troll" as a nickname, it likely stems from Norse Mythology surrounding trolls as well as the battle strength Thors possesses. As an example, it's not uncommon in both real life stories and also in things like DND that you'll see characters with titles. DND/Baldur's Gate has "Wyll Ravenguard, the Blade of Frontiers". Thors is called "The Troll of Jom" because he was a member of the Jomsvikings, who were based in Jomsborg. Being called "The Troll of Jom" likely refers to the fact that: - 1) he's huge - 2) his strength is significant and above average - 3) he was seen as a monster in battle to others for his strength and combat prowess. Which is really saying something if his title says "yeah he's a troll even compared to the other Jomsvikings" when we just saw how they compare to the villagers. A troll in Norse mythos is both your traditional troll, but could also look entirely human. While you would hear tales of trolls that looked like what we think as trolls, it's described in mythology that trolls could also look like totally normal people, sometimes really big. So TL;DR: - His title is "Thors the Troll" / "Troll of Jom" because he was a Jomsviking and tehy're from Jomsborg, but it's also describing how he's even bigger / stronger than the other Jomsvikings - I don't think it's clear if they gave him that name or if it's a title he just acquired from people seeing him in battle, but the idea is "Oh Thors is massive and ridiculous in battle, there's no way that guy is human because of how strong he is so he MUST be a troll in disguise / related to trolls"

I personally have come to think of the "you have no enemies" with this series as just another way to say killing is your very last resort and you approach a difficult situation of even someone else trying to hurt or kill you in a different manner up until you seriously have no choice but to defend yourself by killing the person but you need to have the philosophy of making sure you do everything in your power to not hurt or kill anyone if not 100% necessary.

Yes very well said

In a way its basically like "Valhalla vs Christianity" lol. Just a heads up though Christianity is pretty intertwined with this series and what it does. Not straight in your face but like you can find a lot of details that connect to the Christian philosophy etc....

The "you have no enemies" scene gives me chills every single time

You already heard it from Leif, but a lot of this was during the time of Christianity reaching the Vikings and before that much of the world was operating on “an eye for an eye”, but Christ and the Bible follows the mindset of “if someone slaps your right cheek give them your left.” Now not everyone at the time was becoming Christian, but that morality was making its way through the region.
