2025-05-26 18:17:41 +0000 UTCTo be fair, Wizards use books as a part of their mechanics. Almost all casters need components and/or spell focuses, and a Spell Book, can be a Spell Focus. It’s just that only Wizards can benefit by copying new spells into theirs from other books/scrolls.

Like ya im here for vengeance but out of the list your the last one I cared to actually kill. And I love that Stonefell gets pissed at that XD Sidenote: that fucking door scene was SO MUCH WORSE in the actual campaign XD the expend like multiple high level spells too just to get it open XD Scanlan teleported in and then couldnt lift the heavy wood piece blocking it bc he was too weak she he had to cast his highest level spell to summon Bigbys Hand just to open it in the end HAHA they rolled so fucking low the whole time XD And it ended up not being too important (as the moment the scene was based on was technically going to meet Keeper Yenin!)

2025-04-28 20:01:59 +0000 UTCOn the topic of wizards and their books: some wizards can use their books as a spell casting focus, but wizards do not need it on their person in order to cast a spell, unless they are ritually casting that spell. They do need their book to change out spells after a long rest, where they are memorizing those spells for the day.

2025-04-28 15:16:02 +0000 UTCPlayer Characters are "restricted" to specific Classes, but keep in mind that NPC's can have traits of Classes, they can really be anything. Lady Briarwood is more a Necromancer than a Wizard, but in a sense she's a Spellcaster than anything else. Just don't limit your views on what the NPC's can do by labeling them as a player class. Expect anything

But ya all the door jokes in this show are the result of the time that 3 people spent the better part of half a hour trying to open a door.
